According to climate data and modeling reviewed in the article, the number of properties at flood risk in the UK could jump from 6.3 million today to 8 million by 2050. Flash flooding, especially in cities, could increase by as much as 66%.
Some of the most exposed communities are now facing insurance withdrawal, and a few may even require relocation as risk levels rise.
